Face Reading – to understanding your health and skin

Around the time of Chinese New Year, it is a peak season for zodiac and feng shui reading.  The traditional Chinese practice of face reading also comes to mind.  From face reading, an expert master may be able to reveal your past, predict your future and determine your personality.  But there is another use of face reading - a way to diagnose organs and body parts.  It helps revealing the state of your health.

Face as a Map

Your face is a mirror to your health, symptoms like patch of dry flaky skin isn’t just the only way your body telling you to slather on extra rich moisturizer.  Your body is telling you there are internal problems.  Understanding the problems of your skin, you can then correlate them to internal problems.

In terms of health, Chinese believed that human body has meridians and acupuncture points that life energy flows between and corresponds to 5 vital organs – the heart, liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys.  Each zone is mapped on your face.  The areas are clear and healthy when your body’s energy is flowing in perfect harmony.  When illness is present, energy cannot flow smoothly, this will present itself on your face.

What does it all mean?

Stomach and Intestines

If the top lip is cracked, red, or has spots at the corner, this could indicate stomach acidity or heat caused by inappropriate diet. The lower lip protrudes may indicate bowels loose or constipation.

A yellow colour around the mouth and lack of tone in the mouth indicate that the digestive energy is weak and a change of diet and enzymes are needed.

If the chin is swollen and red, it could mean structural weakness or stuck energy in the abdomen.

Lines which go down the cheek from the inner corner of the eye are another indication of a bowel problem.

Liver

If the half-moon shaped area under your eyes is dark brown, this could mean your liver is stressed, perhaps due to mental stress or anger, rich foods or an overabundance of alcohol.  If combined with one-sided headaches, jaw tension and two vertical lines between the eyebrows your metabolism, joints and cholesterol level may be affected.

If your liver is lacking of blood circulation, your eyesight may be weak, which can lead to variety of eye disorders.

If the white of the eyes are full of thick yellow tissue, white phlegm or thick blood vessels, the liver may be full of toxins.

Spots and lines on the forehead point to liver congestion from too much oily food or dairy.  It may indicate the need to flush out toxins by drinking more water and eating more natural, unprocessed foods.

Having dry, itchy skin and spots on your skin could mean your blood is unclean, relating to unhealthy liver.

Unusually visible, bold and sallow veins may mean that the blood traveling back to the heart may be blocked.

Kidneys

If the half moon-shaped area under the eye is puffy and blue, you are working too hard, not sleeping or drinking too much coffee which depleting your adrenals, or eating too much rich food causing an imbalance in the fluid balance of the body.

If your eyes are redder then the skin on your face or the inner corner of your eyes are sunken and dark blue, you are overworking your adrenal glands.

Lungs

Redness, puffiness and breakouts around the nostrils and lower cheek area might indicate that you’ve consumed too many dairy products, which produce mucus and congestion in the lungs.

By improving the overall internal health, you could potentially fixed the external – your skin.  And if you have your health, who needs those winning lotto numbers anyway?
